This announcement will be used to fill part-time/every other weekend, Evening shift (2:30pm-11:00pm) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) vacancies within the Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis. ** The work schedule will include at least 16 hours per 2-week pay period ( **work every other weekend** ) and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. The position is not eligible for employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits. As an LPN for the MVH-Minneapolis, you will provide compassionate, person-centered care for residents in a long-term nursing facility. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position. + Licensed in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse with no restrictions, and in good standing. + Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and keep clear and accurate notes and documentation. + Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross or ability to be certified by date of hire. + Computer skills sufficient to complete electronic charting, specifically in PointClickCare. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long term care or other senior healthcare environment. + Experience working with Veterans. + Effective interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships. **Additional Requirements** This position also requires successful completion of the following: + Employee reference checks will be conducted on all finalists.
